Almost 12 Weeks!
The pups have been growing like weeds, and have changed so quickly we thought perhaps a video of them might be in order. It gives a better sense of what they look like and how playful they are. We've been working on leash and crate training with them over the last few weeks, as well as some basic commands. So far they've picked it all up fairly well...we'll see how it keeps going.
Currently there are two girls and one boy left. I noted this in the Individual Puppy Picture post, but they look so different there than they do now! The movie shows one girl and one boy in our yard. The boy has the blaze on his neck.

4 1/2 Weeks
The pups have grown like weeds!
Penny has been a stellar mom and has made taking care of the puppies pretty easy. She started weaning them this week, and I'm glad of the need for more interaction with the pups. They can see pretty well, are running around, climbing and curious about everything! Their personalities are really starting to come out now, and it's amazing how eight little dogs can all be so different.

Pictures, As Promised!
They're here! Penny whelped eight healthy, fat, darling pups on 4/18/09 (or rather, started then and finished early the next morning---long night!). She four females and four males, all of which look just perfect.
Dew claws were removed yesterday, and Penny and her pups have settled down into a routine of eating and sleeping.

Puppies Whelped!
I'm happy to announce that our Penny successfully whelped her litter last night. The puppies and their momma are doing great and settling in. We will be taking deposits on puppies now, so if you are interested in buying one of these darlings, please contact us.

Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Puppies Coming Soon!
We are glad to announce that we will be whelping a litter of puppies towards the end of April. Our female GSMD Penny was bred late this winter and will be due soon.
These will be AKC registered puppies with excellent bloodlines. Both sire and dam are beautiful dogs and have passed their OFA hip certifications. If these puppies are anything at all like their mother, they will be real sweeties and excellent companions.
